SET-LIST and WHY WE ARE USING ONE w OASIS

Hello,

  So the Cardinals and myself like to bust things out on the fly. this works for us as a team. it’s what we do and somewhat how many songs are constructed. That being said we are not doing that right now. why?

1. We have a HARD-CORE curfew in the US w OASIS. 1 hour. This leaves us to need to be in a position to be WAY ON-TIME for our Amazing Fucking Crew to be able to just get right behind loads LOADS of massive OASIS stuff, and for us to be able to pull off a rad set.

Listen. I loathe LOATHE set-lists, but man, the way it goes with cardinals is by vote, by what is most effective at the time. And my vote to keep it on the fly DID NOT WORK at some gigs and if we get no soundcheck OUR CREW HAS TO KNOW IT BY HEART.

so to the fans who love the non-repeat- i have this to say-

i do my parts so so different every night and focus on the moment and raising the elemental parts of the tunes in the set every-night and we left PLENTY of room to get lost in.

2. We need to play some songs somewhat recognizable- we are OPENING for OASIS, and we know you like the jams but many don’t know the jams so we as a band are doing that bit- doing what it takes on SONGS PICKED BY THE BAND that we knew we could rock.

3. I have heard some rumblings about not pushing the new jams enough. I think there is at least enough to sustain me. But I am with you. I have to focus so fucking hard ot make Stars Go Blue mean a fucking thing. It is my job to dig as hard as I can because unfortunately people like that song.

Id much rather play some noisy tunes myself.

4. As always we are ahead of you and have a tour, some records you are SO in the dark about which i think will more than keep you busy and even maybe a documentary thing being worked on.

So, sorry if these songs bum you out.

I think we have a rad flow up there and I am working hard right now during these shows to be more open with the audience and not be so afraid.

I am so tired of shaky hands and throwing up before I play. It happens though man.

But fuck me, I care so fucking much- I wish I was playing ALL DAY- i miss it all day all day.

anyway, to the fans, man, i am here to keep exchanging rad new idea’s with you

and as a cardinal

i am here to do what is needed as stage right. which is what this learning curve right now is about.

hi, ryan adams brilliant the cards amaaazing (please say like rachel zoe) , and together they make me want to melt into there music, and i think sometimes i do. but best news of the day your coming to florida, and i will be attending every show i can get to, because each time will be a new experience, that i think i need to have in my life. if there’s a struggle in your work or in life it must be so amazing to know that the words that you fire out have influenced and have helped so many of us. you have made a impact on people’s lives which i think is one of the greatest accomplishments of life. your so blessed, your so free, and i am so happy to have found this musical escape…so thanks. and i will be hearing you live soon…and i will be the one throwing up before you go on stage due to excitment.
